Cancer won’t dull this princess’s sparkle…

Most of my Wednesdays are fairly uneventful, coffee, maybe some editing or a shoot, school dropoff, etc. In our daily life, we get overwhelmed by the little stuff, we sweat the “small stuff” as they say. I have, like any other working parent a plateful of things on my to do list. Normally I am fretting over getting everything done and being

But today was different, today I got up early to head to a local Children’s Hospital to meet an amazing Tampa family who is weathering a storm that is every parent’s worst nightmare. Sweet little Trinity is starting off in her journey to beat Neuroblastoma. It has been a whirlwind for her family. What started as some small swelling in her neck just a mere three weeks ago has turned into the worst imaginable.

I am not going to lie, as I laid awake in bed last night I struggled with mentally preparing to be strong and upbeat. I was excited to meet them and provide lasting memories but as a fellow parent, I felt massive and deep empathy. We always overanalyze every little bump and bruise, lump and fever (or at least I think I do…) and it nearly always turns out to be something mundane and normal. I am sure that Skyla felt like she was overthinking everything, but thanks to her mama instinct and pressing for her child, Trinity is on a fast track to beating this terrible disease.

Watching the community rally and surround them in love and prayers has been inspiring. Meal trains were formed, toys and supplies gathered. And I happily answered the call when they asked for a photographer to step in to document the beginning of this sweet girl’s journey before chemo steals away her precious hair. Parties With Character, a company I have enjoyed working with in the past AMAZINGLY rallied Trinity’s two favorite princesses and the owner, Karrie Mueller joined in to what was the most amazing and joy filled morning I have had in a long time.

The D’Autorio family greeted us all with such joy and smiles you would never know what they were facing. I felt such hope and faith surrounding them as we watched such a simple thing, a sweet little girl meeting her favorite princesses! The smiles speak for themselves. Trinity has such a sweet heart and she just held onto those princesses hands and would not let go. She led them around the hospital, out of her wing and happily shared her princesses with all of the other little children who would walk by. I secretly think she was just trying to get them to “bust her out” hahahaa.

In the end we expected tears as we had to part ways but true to form, Trinity just smiled and waved goodbye as she trotted off with her daddy. She left with the promise of another princess party with her faves after she beats this horrible disease and I cannot wait to see that day!

So in closing, if you feel compelled to support this family whether in prayers, or financial support please do so.
