Occasionally I will get an email from a beautiful family headed to the sunshine state that want to have family portraits done while they are at the beach. I shoot frequently here in Florida at the beach, I mean, take a look at my “office” lol. Gorgeous white sands, dunes, and waves make for picture perfect family photos.

The Y family contacted me and wanted to do a sunrise session. Most clients don’t want to deal with the early start time for beach photos but there is something magical about that morning sun as it peeks over the horizon. We practically had the beach to ourselves and we had so much fun.

One of the things that I love to do for my clients is to provide both posed and candid photos for their families. I understand the desire to post something on your walls where you have a smiling photo, but I also fully grasp the special moments that happen in between. These moments are when your children may sneak their real smiles, be their silly selves and chase the sea foam. It is also a treasure to remember these moments as well.
